Over a hundred years ago, Philadelphia was known as the greatest brewing center in the United States. With the advent of mass produced, or macro, brands, the specialist skill of brewing fell into decline in the city for many years. However, consumer demand for better tasting, smooth drinking brews revived the micro brewery, and today Philadelphia is rapidly becoming a go-to destination for connoisseurs of the art of brewing beer.

A good place to start your beer tour of Philly is at Iron Hill Brewery and restaurant. Light food and wood fired pizzas are also served in a casual atmosphere.

Located in the center of Philadelphia’s nightlife scene, this place also offers live music and good food. Try their Imperial Stout, of a Honey Wheat brew if you want something less robust.
