Instead of visiting tourist areas, how about heading to places where the locals go to? One of this places would be the Reading Terminal Market, one of the greatest public markets in the country. The Reading Terminal Market is the nation’s oldest continuously operating farmers’ market, as it was opened since 1892. At the market, mini bus visitors can enjoy the many different cuisines, whether it is Asian and Middle Eastern dishes, to authentic Philadelphia cuisine, and even traditional Pennsylvania Dutch cuisine. All under one roof.

The History of Reading Terminal Market

Ever since the founding of Philadelphia by William Penn in the late 17th century, markets were an important part in bringing farmers, fishermen and huntsmen together to hawk their goods in a settlement. However, due to hygiene and other issues, markets were moved indoors and two markets that became Reading Terminal Market - Farmers’ Market and Franklin Market - were born.
